Three-dimensional super Yang-Mills with unquenched flavor

We construct analytically the gravity duals of three-dimensional, super Yang-Mills-type theories with $\mathcal N=1$ supersymmetry coupled to $N_f$ quark flavors. The backreaction of the quarks on the color degrees of freedom is included, and corresponds on the gravity side to the backreaction of $N_f$ D6-branes on the background of $N$ D2-branes. The D6-branes are smeared over the compact part of the geometry, which must be a six-dimensional nearly K\"ahler manifold in order to preserve supersymmetry. For massless quarks, the solutions flow in the IR to an $AdS_4$ fixed point dual to a Chern-Simons-matter theory. For light quarks the theories exhibit quasi-conformal dynamics (walking) at energy scales $m_q \ll E \ll \lambda N_f / N$, with $\lambda = g_{\text{YM}}^2 N$ the 't Hooft coupling.Comment: 21 pages, 1 figure. v2 Minor editing, refs. added. Macrocyclic structures with polydentate nitrogen ligands represent a fundamental and extensive type of compounds in this group. The strategy employed in this work consists on the connection of the central amine to a naphtalene group (chromophore) and to two pyridine moieties at the end positions, to be involved in self-assembly processes giving rise to metallomacrocyclic structures. These systems can be used in molecular recognition processes. The encapsulation of the metallomacrocycles on hydrogels facilitates the use of the chemosensors in daily life applications. Furthermore, these type of compounds gives stability to the hydrogels and also photophysical acquired properties. In addition, the use of these polydentate nitrogen ligands in order to synthesize new silver and gold containing compounds, provide new tools for the recognition and/or encapsulation of molecules. Research on Spanish fiction television series. A critical review study (1998-2020)

El objetivo de este artículo de revisión es ofrecer una valoración de los estudios sobre series televisivas españolas de ficción. La unidad de análisis son los artículos académicos publicados en revistas científicas indexadas en las bases de datos multidisciplinares: Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, y Dialnet, entre 1998 y 2020. Para ello se utiliza una metodología mixta, cuantitativa y cualitativa, basada en el Framework SALSA, con el propósito de construir una revisión bibliográfica de tipo sistematizada. Los resultados muestran que el estudio más habitual es el de la representación que se propone en las series de ficción de determinados grupos o escenarios sociales. Otros acercamientos se refieren al desarrollo de los géneros de ficción televisiva, a las adaptaciones, así como a las audiencias y la recepción de los públicos. Como temas emergentes surgen investigaciones que apuntan a la transmedialidad, las audiencias participativas, los estudios híbridos que explican el contenido desde la producción y la autoría y los trabajos de corte feminista. Entre los vacíos se señalan como oportunidades de investigación enfoques que aborden el lenguaje audiovisual y las estéticas de la ficción televisiva.This review paper assesses academic articles published about Spanish fictional television series in scientific journals indexed in multidisciplinary databases: Web of Science (WoS), Scopus and Dialnet between 1998 and 2020. A combined quantitative and qualitative method of analysis based on the SALSA Framework was used, in order to build a systematic bibliographic review. The results showed that the most common studies were those about the representation proposed in the fictional series about certain groups or social settings. Other approaches referred to the development of television fiction genres, adaptations, as well as to audiences and how audiences had received the series. Innovative research pointed to the emerging themes of transmediality, participatory audiences, hybrid studies that explained the content from production and authorship, and feminist works. Among the gaps noted were approaches that addressed the audiovisual language and the aesthetics of television fiction as research opportunities.Proyecto: “Las series españolas de televisión del siglo XXI. Niche divergence and limits to expansion in the high polyploid Dianthus broteri complex

Niche evolution in plant polyploids remains controversial and evidence for alternative patterns has been reported. Using the autopolyploid Dianthus broteri complex (2×, 4×, 6× and 12×) as a model, we aimed to integrate three scenarios – competitive exclusion, recurrent origins of cytotypes and niche filling – into a single framework of polyploid niche evolution. We hypothesized that high polyploids would tend to evolve towards extreme niches when low ploidy cytotypes have nearly filled the niche space. We used several ecoinformatics and phylogenetic comparative analyses to quantify differences in the ecological niche of each cytotype and to evaluate alternative models of niche evolution. Each cytotype in this complex occupied a distinct ecological niche. The distributions were mainly constrained by soil characteristics, temperature and drought stress imposed by the Mediterranean climate. Tetraploids had the highest niche breadth and overlap due to their multiple origins, whereas the higher ploidy cytotypes were found in different, restricted, nonoverlapping niches. Niche evolution analyses suggested a scenario with one niche optimum for each ploidy, including the two independent tetraploid lineages.Our results suggest that the fate of nascent polyploids could not be predicted without accounting for phylogenetic relatedness, recurrent origins or the niche occupied by ancestors.Aridos La Melera S.L. Canal 10 TV: el espejismo de la primera televisión privada de España

This investigation centres on the experience of Canal 10 which presents an enormous interest for it is the first national-wide private television initiative in Spain, and because it was developed while the parliamentary process of enacting television rules was taking place. For this motive, both legislators and communication businessmen suspected of the legality of the project. The investigation not only describes the path of Channel 10: it also contributes with unpublished material obtained from the in-the-day main streams of opinion, about the opinions and interests of all the agents involved in the process of the analysed period. It also gathers a summary of parliamentary discussions that condense themselves the different approaches that, together, formed the social process around this item. The case of the Canal 10 TV is important because it informs of the diverse interests —economic, managerial, political, social— that come together in the business and political configuration of private television in Spain

The role of space in Spanish television fiction. The «Antidisturbios» Case (Movistar+, 2020)

The main objective of this research was to analyse the spatial representation constructed in the fiction TV series Antidisturbios (Riot Police) (Movistar+, 2020). It sought to look at how space is constructed in the narrative, consider the role it plays in it, and assess whether space reflects a specific sense of location related to Spanish identity. A methodology based on textual analysis was used, with emphasis on spatial representation. An analysis tool was applied to evaluate a variety of scenes from the series. The analysis found that narrative space was of crucial importance for the background of the story and that Madrid played a prominent role in the narrative. Antidisturbios portrays a city that represents the symbolic centre of the Spanish state, understood as a space of hegemonic power that brings together the political and economic elites. At the same time, it presents a contemporary, recognisable, and inclusive geography, which contrasts with the image of the capital in the public and political debate about identity. The city that the series constructs refers to and questions a specific historical period where several of the social problems in current Spanish society are looming.El principal objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la representación espacial construida en la serie de ficción Antidisturbios (Movistar+, 2020). Se busca observar la composición del espacio en el relato, ponderar su protagonismo dentro de la historia y valorar si el espacio presenta un sentido de lugar específico relacionado con la identidad española. Para abordarlo se propone una metodología basada en el análisis textual con énfasis en la representación espacial. Con este fin se incluye un instrumento de análisis con el que se han evaluado una variedad de escenas de la ficción. El trabajo analítico ha descubierto que el espacio narrativo posee una importancia crucial para el trasfondo de la historia y que existe un protagonismo destacado de Madrid dentro del relato. Antidisturbios propone una ciudad que representa el centro simbólico del Estado español, entendido como un espacio de poder hegemónico que congrega a las élites políticas y económicas. A la vez, presenta una geografía actual, reconocible e integradora, que contrasta con la imagen de la capital en el debate identitario público y político. La ciudad que construye la serie refiere y pone en discusión un momento histórico concreto, donde asoman varios de los problemas sociales que acucian a la sociedad española actual

Los Sitios Reales: Patrimonio y recurso educativo en las aulas

El presente artículo propone la consideración de los Reales Sitios como recurso educativo dentro del aula de ciencias sociales de educación infantil y primaria. Distinguir campo y ciudad y enriquecer el imaginario del paisaje del Madrid histórico son los principales objetivos. El descubrimiento y significado de espacios ligados a La Corte desde etapas tempranas de la enseñanza, puede ayudar a comprender la organización del territorio de Madrid, recreando la vida cortesana mediante el reconocimiento de elementos patrimoniales: palacios, el viario, personajes, costumbres y elementos naturales como son los bosques, cursos fluviales, fauna, entre otros que guardan relación con los Sitios Reales.
